Jessica Berg

Violin

Jessica Berg currently teaches violin with Boulder Suzuki Strings, where she has been a member of the faculty since 2002. She also maintains a growing violin studio in Denver, where she coaches string and chamber ensembles in addition to private lessons. Jessica has also taught music and yoga with the Intermezzo Chamber Music Sessions chamber music camp in Denver since 2006.

In addition, Jessica is an Iyengar Yoga instructor, and believes in linking the worlds of yoga and music to help musicians overcome the physical strains of playing an instrument, and find the emotional balance for performance. She has taught yoga for musicians at numerous workshops, including Peaks to Plains Suzuki Institute in Lafayette, Colorado, Intermezzo Chamber Music Sessions, and the Suzuki Winter Workshop in Denver. She also teaches private sessions and classes in Denver.

Jessica began studying Suzuki violin at age 3 and half at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. She studied with Kee Soon Ahn, and later, William Fuhrburg. After earning a BS in Journalism from the E.W. Scripps School at Ohio University, she discovered her true passions are music and yoga. She subsequently completed a three-year apprenticeship with Suzuki pedagogue Ellie Albers Leroux in Longmont, Colorado.

Jessica is happy to make her home in Colorado, and enjoys the amenities of the mountain lifestyle – hiking, skiing, camping and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
